More Crunches Won't Help

You look in the mirror and what do you see..... What was your answer? It probably sounded like this: I do tons of sit ups and crunches but I still can't see my abs. Here's a possible solution. Most of the time when we are just getting out of a hot shower, we take a moment to check out our bodies. Try wiping the condensation from the mirror and look again. If you have already done that and you still can't see your abs, then Houston we have a problem.

You can do all the crunches and sit ups in the world and you will get beautifully developed abs. They will be rock hard and sculpted like Gerald Butler's abs in the movie 300. There are many theories when it comes to working your abs. Here is one; your abs are just like any other muscle. You have to give them time to rest.

With that said, working them every day will stifle development. Here's another; it's a good practice to finish one compete abdominal routine before you start another. Ex: 3x15 crunches, 3x15 leg raises, and 3x15 oblique crunches. Complete the 3x15 crunches before you move to the leg raises and so on. Some may argue that there is nothing wrong with working your abs every day. In a sense, that is true. You indirectly work your abs when doing exercises like free standing curls, or frontal raises. Theses movements require your core (mainly abs) to stay tight to avoid torso swinging. Other than that, you can directly work your abs every other day to maximize their fullest potential.

Have all the fun you want getting those rock hard abs but there is one thing you must know. Do all the abdominal routines you want but you must allow your abs to show by removing the layer of fat that is covering them, subcutaneous fat. Yes, you have to burn fat. Do your cardio. No whining, just do it. In addition, you can make your stomach sweat as well. Stomach sweat wraps are good for that. So, get rid of the subcutaneous fat to show your abs.

There is also another layer of fat that is not covering but bulging your abs. It is called visceral fat. This fat is very dangerous not only to the perfection of your beautiful abs but the health of your body. This fat covers your organs and could lead to type two diabetes and other metabolic issues. So, do your cardio to burn this fat as well.

There you have it, you can do all the abdominal exercises you want but until you get rid of subcutaneous and visceral fat that is bulging and covering your abs, they will never show. That is why more crunches won't work my friends. Remember to always eat properly as well. Raw fruits and vegetables are great for burning fat.

Thank you for your time and for putting your health first.
