No Meat No Cheese Challenge

There is nothing like a juicy medium well sirloin steaks cooked on an open flame grill with hockey pieces burning underneath. I bet I have you salivating right now. That's something us westerners love, but the question is can you go without it or any other meat? What about cheese? Can you go without it? I did for two weeks. I explain the results in the video below.

Your How -To Guide For Spotting

This must be one of the simplest things one could do to help their fellow gym-goer....so we thought.
So you normally workout by yourself. You are one who puts the headphones on and get in your zone. You have your favorite tunes sounding just right and you knock out every set. Today you want to go a little heavier than usual but you know you will need a spot. What do you do? Do you go right ahead and try to lift the heavier weight with no assistance? Do you disturb some random person's routine to ask for a spot? The audacity!

Actually, it's the safest way to go if you're willing to check your ego for a couple sets. But Carlos, I get annoyed when someone interrupts my routine so why would I do it to someone else? Well, there's a right way and a wrong way to go about it. Wrong way: You spot a potential spotter who's in the middle of a super-set and ask that seemingly annoying question, can you spot me? Of course you may get rejected. They are in a zone. Get out. The right way: You spot a potential spotter who takes time in the mirror after each set. Target lock! Believe me, they have the time. Lets go!

SPOTTING
  • As a spotter, your job is to make sure YOUR SPOTEE hits their mark. They should know what that is and tell you ,the spotter,
what number of reps they're aiming for.
  • Don't be the hype-man. Your spotee doesn't need the attention and the break in focused. Remember, he pulled you aside because he normally works out alone, most likely to not be disturbed.
  • Ask if your spotee wants a lift-off.
  • Let your spotee do the lifting. Some spotters have a bad habit of taking the load. You were called over because your spotee wants to LIFT more weight. Let them feel it but d
  • If you have never lifted or have been spotted on the weight in which you are being asked to spot, politely decline assistance. This will avoid possible injury to your spot we and save you embarrassment.
  • Lastly, if it feels awkward.....it is. Stop it.
As always, thank you for your time and for putting your health first.
